I have a few minutes before the truck rumbles back from the vineyard bearing bins piled high with Fiano and Semillon. My intention was to make it out there to pick with the crew this morning; by the time I’d gotten Simone dressed, fed, and out the door to preschool and filled the car with fuel, I learned there were only 8 rows left to pick and it’s an hour’s drive, so instead I went home and prepped eggplant parmigiana for dinner. Now, the rain is lifting and mist hangs over my husband’s winery.
